Over the years psychologists have examined many aspects of optimism vs pessimism.  And they’ve tried to find out which approach is ‘better’. Naturally all of us are fascinated to see which way this one goes. Optimism is the act of staying positive and pessimism is the opposite from a generic perspective. From a general viewpoint and in society optimist is related to the well-being of the mind. However, it can be a process which can be overdone. Being overly optimistic can lead to more issues than solutions. Optimism or pessimism are not right or wrong, rather they are a part of the perspective of the individuals. Optimism can lead the people to not worry about the issues. For example, people cannot simply sit and assume there will be money flow in their house. It is imperative to have a planning process and also a contingent plan. optimism vs pessimism

Pessimism on the other hand can lead to the people to address issues which can be detrimental to their health. For example, in the case of a recovering patient if they fail to see the positive in the situation there can be slower recovery. It can be alluded from this discussion that being either overly optimistic or pessimistic can be an issue. From a realistic perspective it is not advisable to be overly optimistic or pessimistic. It is therefore advised that the people be prudent to have a well thought plan which is scrutinized completely.

The real question is where to draw the line between being optimistic or pessimistic. The individuals need to find ways to be mindful of their thoughts and analyze the negatives of the situation. Individuals should weigh in their options and give alternative reasons for the events. The people need to be aware of their thinking patterns and derive holistic solutions for the issues. It is imperative for the people to critically weigh in the issues and solutions on both sides and arrive at an objective conclusion. This is a thought process which can be developed only with practice by the people or organizations.
